Patrick H. Lauke at Bitwarden Community Forum
Posted on
Patrick H. Lauke joined last week's Bitwarden Community Forum (from 24:38 to 32:27) to talk about his experience with accessibility and frame his approach to open source contributions. Bitwarden is an open source password manager that Patrick has been using and contributing to for a while.
He spoke about his day-to-day work doing website assessments for clients, providing suggestions for remediation fixes, and his desire to "roll up his sleeves" and balance this relatively hands-off work with more practical and direct contributions.
It's sometimes good and well posting issues on GitHub […] but often that leaves the developers at the other end then wondering, "How can I fix it?" It's not that they don't want to fix it or that they ignore accessibility, but it really doesn't give them enough information on how to proceed.
Patrick made an appearance at Bitwarden's regular Bitwarden Vault Hours in April (from 42:17 to 45:20) when he was named contributor of the month for his contributions to the project.
Bitwarden is one of many open source projects Patrick contributes to described in his Meet the team: Patrick H. Lauke profile.
