New international accessibility alliance to enable global organisations to navigate regional regulatory and cultural accessibility standards.
Global organizations now deliver content and services across borders to international audiences. It is critical that regional laws and standards are understood and adhered to.
An appreciation of the cultural factors that make an international accessibility strategy successful is also required. Regional differences in attitude and preferred language are often subtle, but have a high impact.
The international accessibility alliance from TetraLogical, Infoaxia, and Equal Entry will:
- *Assist global organizations to adhere to and understand regulations including Section 508, EN301 549, and JIS X 8341-3 2016.
- Pre-empt legal action under increasing disability legislation.
- Develop and implement successful global accessibility strategies.
- Reach more consumers with positive brand experiences.
Thomas Logan of Equal Entry (North America) said:
Many global organizations doing business in the United States do not realize how much accessibility has changed. In recent years there have been thousands of lawsuits related to digital technology under the Americans with Disabilities Act Title III – companies are now expected to comply and excel at delivering solutions that work for all people.
Makoto Ueki of Infoaxia (Japan) said:
Japanese organisations need to be actively involved in accessibility because Japan is the country with the highest aging population in the world. Accessible and inclusive design benefits not only people with disabilities, but everyone including older people.
Léonie Watson of TetraLogical (UK and Europe) said:

Notes to Editors
Founded in 2019 by Léonie Watson, TetraLogical is a company with inclusion at its heart. Our focus is on emerging as well as existing technologies, offering knowledge, experience, strategic, and development services to organisations around the world. We know that inclusion is not just about code, standards, and compliance. It's about people, analysis, and separating what people really need from what we assume they need.
Infoaxia was founded in 2004 by web accessibility expert Makoto Ueki. Infoaxia is offering consulting services for web accessibility to Japanese global companies, such as conducting audits and user tests, documenting in-house guidelines and rules, planning and providing training, advising web design companies as well as services upon request. Makoto has been contributing to the development of international and national web accessibility standards since 2003.
Equal Entry was founded in 2012 by accessibility expert Thomas Logan. After helping large companies and government agencies meet their accessibility goals for over a decade, Logan decided to start Equal Entry to improve public education about accessibility and close the gap between what was being taught and what needed to be taught. The company focuses on how people with disabilities actually use technology and how best to contribute to a more accessible world.
